We’re Smoking Now
Today is Memorial Day here in the US. The day we remember those who served our country throughout Americas history. Most everyone has a three day weekend and many will be at lakes, picnics, and parties. Here it has been raining the whole holiday weekend. My hubby is on call this weekend so we knew we wouldn’t be out at picnics or parties. Instead we decided to Smoke. Smoke what? Is what one of my friends not from Texas asked. So I went on to describe the different meats we had bought. Oh she said you mean your grilling out. Okay, if that is what she wants to call it. I decided to not go into the differences between Grilling and Smoking. Nor did I bother to ask what kind of family activity she thought I meant when I said we were smoking. Some times it is just better to not ask.
My only regret for this weekend is I forgot to take pictures. I think pics of my hubby mopping the food in pouring down rain would have made a great scrapbook page. As would pictures of two of my girls playing football and tackling each other down to the muddy ground. It may not have been one of our more exciting holiday weekends but I know we made some memories that will last for a long time. In the long run isn’t that what is really important?
